About Us

Holly Higbee-Jansen, one of the principle owners of Jansen Photo Expeditions, www.jansenphotoexpeditions.com, is a native of the San Francisco, CA Bay Area, has been involved photography and design her whole life.  Conversations around the dinner table as a child were about landscape photography and Ansel Adams as her family spent summers attending Ansel Adams photography workshops in Yosemite National Park.  With degrees in Business and Design from Skidmore College, and the University of California at Santa Barbara, Holly brings a fresh perspective to the business as the head of the photography education classes.

Holly currently holds both online and classroom seminars on the Basics of Digital Photography, Beginning Photoshop, and as well as iPhone Workshops.  These classes work hand in hand with the in field instruction given at the larger multi-day events.

However, Holly is much more than a photographer. Since 1993, she has been the principal owner of Higbee-Jansen Design, a full service design firm. With this knowledge, education, and training, she can bring in her knowledge of space, line and form along with her keen photographic eye.

Holly is also an experienced worldwide traveler and one of her responsibilities with Jansen Photo Expeditions is to be sure you are in the right place at the right time to catch that trophy photograph. Whether it’s in Big Sur for the sunrise as it crests over the mountain, or in Venice, Italy, as you are catching the first barge down the Grand Canal to photograph the morning light as Venice awakens, you can feel confidant that you are in the hands of a professional.

Photography is Their Life and Passion...

That's where the team of Mark Jansen and Holly Higbee-Jansen excels. Since 2005, clients have depended on Jansen Photo Expeditions to take them on photographic dream tours. Under Mark and Holly’s direction, you can feel confidant that they will bring you a whole new perspective to your photography skills, while guiding you in the outdoors.  Both Mark and Holly have spent 20 years exploring the western United States, backpacking and camping and honing their outdoor skills.
