Beginning Digital Photography Magic!

Beginning Digital Photography Magic!

New Class Starting Monday, September 2, 2013!

This is a fun and interactive class that will introduce you to the basics of digital photography.  For more information on exactly how these classes work, refer to our home page.

Week 1: Composition Challenges.  During the first week, we will examine why we take pictures and you’ll get to know your camera. We’ll also talk about how to spark your creativity and the importance of expressive photography and why composition is so important in photography.  Once you understand composition, you will be able to move forward with your creative vision.

Week 2: Controlling the Light. Photography is all about capturing light.  If you take a mediocre subject in great light, it will look great, if you take a great subject in mediocre light, it will go flat.  Learn about light, and how and when to best capture it.

Week 3: Controlling Depth of Field. Depth of field is a very important aspect of photography that you may or may not be aware of.  It can help or hinder pulling the viewer's eye into the image and will compliment or compromise the final result.

Week 4:  Photo Editing Tools.  During the final week, we will talk about photo editing tools, the importance of organizing your digital photos and other post-processing tips.

Each week you will receive a PDF with the week’s lesson and you will be able to read through the text and photographic examples to learn the week’s concepts.

Important note: Throughout the course, I will give you lots of tips and tools to improve your photography practice.  However, this is not a highly technical e-course. We will cover photography basics, but I won’t be teaching you how to use your camera, so you need to be familiar with the basic functions of the camera or have the manual handy when you might need it.
You need to complete the class within the 4 week period.

Start date: Monday, September 2, 2013
Duration: 4 weeks
